Cecilia is reinventing progress
for advanced industries.

(1). our mission

Our innovative technology turns hard-to-recycle plastic waste into essential components for tomorrow’s advanced industries, setting a new standard for sustainability and economic value.

Founded with the ambition to redefine the life cycle of plastic waste, Cecilia leverages advanced microwave technology to transform industrial-grade plastic into valuable resources: clean hydrogen and high-performance carbon. Our approach goes beyond recycling to establish a new economic and environmental paradigm.

Driven by reimagining what is possible, Cecilia delivers sustainable, circular solutions across industries. We believe that redirecting plastic waste from landfills and oceans into valuable materials will transform the global economic impact of plastic recycling.

Charting the course of our progress and technological impact

In 2021, Cecilia partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) to develop a microwave-based process that upcycles plastic waste into hydrogen and carbon nanotubes, turning waste into a valuable resource.

Following the successful co-invention with NETL, we extracted the intellectual property in 2022 and began our commercialization journey. Later that year, Cecilia was selected for NASA’s Ignite program, securing our first federal contract.

We received three funding awards from NASA in two years, propelling our technology from a lab-scale prototype to a Pilot Demonstration Unit, which is capable of processing five kilograms of plastic waste per day.
