Cecilia Advances in NASA’s SBIR Ignite Program With Phase II Award
Following a successful Phase I period, Cecilia has achieved the next milestone in NASA’s SBIR Ignite program. In June, Cecilia was selected to receive a SBIR Phase II Award of $900,000 in total. Cecilia will use the funding to create a prototype of the company’s microwave technology, which transforms industrial-grade plastic waste into clean hydrogen and high-performance carbon materials.
SBIR Ignite is part of NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. This three-phase program is designed to be a stepping stone on the path to commercial success for high-growth, product-oriented entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses. SBIR Ignite provides non-dilutive funding to early-stage, high-risk technologies that could be commercialized for use both on Earth and in space exploration.
